The best day of my mission...coming up!

Dear Family and friends,                                                                                    8-27-12

Well this week has gone just great, we worked hard and now it’s coming down to the end of the transfers...just one week left. We had 2 baptisms this last week, Rosa and her son Roberto. They were so happy to get baptized. I visited a lot of my converts here so that they stay active and keep coming to church. The church yesterday was full, and we even started having mission correlation meetings...that's a big leap for a ward here in Peru that hard to have a good running ward council. Well I´m very excited for this week because first! I got my package!!! That's why I´m writing so late, we now have to go pick up our own packages as missionaries...it was a horrible time trying to get it out because their postage here isn´t very good. I was maybe like the 9th in line to start in the morning and it took like 2 hours to get my package taken out! It was ridiculous. But, I´m so grateful you all sent it!! I love you all so very much!! Your guy’s rock!!!! I´m going to have a party! When I saw all the candy and the cool tie and everything else I just was so happy! And especially those orange sticks...oooohhhhhh. Those are going to be good.
Well this next week is going to be good, I think it will be my last week here in the zone and then I´ll probably finish my mission somewhere else. But The Ortega Family is going to the temple Friday I think, which is the same day when Elder Christofferson is going to come and speak to us as a mission. I hope the session is very early in the morning because I want to have enough time to go to the conference with him, which starts at 2!! The temple is about 1 1/2 from here and where we are going to see Elder Christofferson is like 2 mins in bus! Its super close because 3 missions are going to come! I hope everything goes smoothly and that would be the best day of my mission. Seeing a family gets sealed in the temple and then going to see an apostle of God! Wow well I hope everything works out! Well I got to go back to work, love you all and hope you all have a wonderful week!
        Love,
            Elder Corbett

Week of temples!!!

Dear family and friends,                                                                                    8-20-12
Well this week is going well; we now have 2 baptisms for this week. It was actually a very special experience of how this sister felt the need to go to church. Her son has been going now for an over a month but she never seems to want to go. We went by one day and taught directly to her not warring about her son and she felt something special. But the week went on and we passed by Friday (1 1/2 weeks ago) and she was very sick. I told my companion that we should give her a blessing and he said, nah she will be fine tomorrow, let’s see how she feels tomorrow. But she let us come in for a sec. to say a prayer but for some reason I felt like I wasn`t called just to say prayers with people, but I have been given the power to heal the sick. And the impression came again and so I pulled out my bible and read with her Luke 9:1-2 and explained how we have been given this power and authority to heal the sick and preach the gospel. She accepted a blessing and it was something very special for me. We passed by the next day and she was almost all better, it was a testimony to me of how strong the priesthood is, she also said, I’ll be at church tomorrow. She went and now with yesterday she has gone twice and they are going to be baptized this Saturday. That is how you teach the gospel not just lessons. We are also working with a Brother and Sister who want to be baptized we just need to help their parents a little to learn more and support them and be there for their baptism. One is 18 and the other is 15, Wilder and Wendy! So the work continues to progress here in San Diego, let’s just see what happens in 2 weeks with transfers, I hope I don`t get taken out but we will see!
Oh and the last thing, this last week a family here in the ward. This family that I love so much here, fam. Salcedo, got sealed in the temple! We couldn`t go but we were there after and we made them a big poster and it was really nice. I`m so happy for them. BUT in even better news....I don`t know if you all remember the Ortega Family from my first area, Miramar!?! Well they are going to be sealed in the temple this weekend and I`m going to be able to go with them. When I heard I wanted to cry, shout, and just hug everyone! I am so happy!!! I can`t wait to see them again...I haven`t seen them since I left that area, but that just shows me that when we make sacrifices like going on a mission we bless a lot people, and now one that I could bless is going to an eternal family!! That is something worth serving!!
Well love you all and hope you are all doing great and having fun at the beach! (I think that’s where you are!) Keep praying for the Ortega Family, there are always lots of challenges right before, for a family who wants to enter the temple!

Love you all and take care this week,
    Elder Corbett

Work hard and just hardly working

Dear family,                                                                                          8-13-12
After all your emails the last week and especially the one from Logan I have buckled myself down a little more to work harder! But something interesting happened, I started working harder but things seem to always get harder. It’s all goo though because that's not going to get me discouraged, we don´t have any sure baptismal dates this week but we have like 5 or 6 that want to be baptized but for each one there is just a little challenge in there. But there is nothing that Lord Can´t does if these people have faith in him. I know these people can make a great change in their lives.
Well my birthday went great!! From Monday to Wednesday I was given like 3 or 4 cakes and people sang to me happy birthday! It was wonderful, I loved it! I ate Cuy (Guinea pig) Wednesday, which was SOOO good!! I think that’s my favorite food here, I don´t know why but it’s just so good! I want everyone to try it. I actually killed 2 out of 3 of the guinea pigs for my birthday and the member cooked them and everything, but I think those pictures are for after the mission!! ;-) I felt like...finally I killed my own animal to eat it! It was a crazy experience but now I can say I´m a man! hahaha
Well this week we are going to have a training meeting with an area seventy that coming by. I´m excited for that but even more excited that at the end of this month we are going to be able to see an Apostle of God! Elder Christofferson! I´m so very excited for that, and I just am going to work so hard so I can stand in front of him and say I´m doing everything I can! Life is going well and loving every min of my mission right now! I have had the best mission that anyone in the whole world!
Love you all and thanks for your prayers and singing me happy birthday, I´ll wait for the presents for when I get home! lol

Love,
   Elder Corbett

Thank you all!!

Dear Family,                                                                                                     8-6-12
I love every single one of you, I´m so thankful for all your emails and messages. Tomorrow (birthday) is going to be an awesome day, I´m actually going to eat lunch with a member and as well kill a guinea pig to eat Wednesday with another family. I´m sorry this email is so short I took a lot of time reading all your emails. I will have a better email next week, but I´m so thankful for all your love and remembering my birthday! I´m going to work so hard this week, we have 3 people that have baptismal dates this week and will be working our bums off! The whole zone except 1 area as well has baptismal dates! The work is progressing, and we had a wonderful Zone leader Council and after during lunch we went to longhorns to each with president, there was a huge TV with the Olympics going on, I saw Michael Phelps win gold. But I´m loving the mission and will be working very hard!
Well times up! Love you all and have a wonderful week!

Love,

Just keep on swimming, keep on swimming, and keep on swimming....

Dear family,                                                                                                    7-30-12
My mission is going really well, but I miss someone, my old companion. I talk to him still when I can because he´s assistant but I wish he was still my companion because I had the most fun with him than anyone else in my mission, and it was so enjoyable to teach with him. My new companion is cool but I feel he just copies my thought. It’s funny because I’ll say something like I say something about a zone or something that happening and he will just say the same things again that I said in agreement. He´s very humble though, but he just kind of follows whatever I say. So I guess I’m not going to have worries when I want to do something but I want him to as well put his own ideas in the pot. We´ll we will see how that goes this week with the zone leader counsel.
The work is progressing though, we had 2 baptisms this week, and one of those baptisms was a lady we only met with 3 times before her interview and baptism. She loves the gospel and she was baptized with her son. We have only known them for a little over 2 weeks. I love them though and they are so special to me. Their names are Iselit and David. Everyone here is saying now that I´m going to end my mission here. It could be but I could as well if I wanted or if the president felt it as revelation to change me my last transfer to a new area, but I don´t know. The next 2 transfers I’m going to be here! We don´t have any baptismal dates right now so we need to work hard this week and out of the 6 people that came to church help them take this step of faith. I also have something awesome to tell, our pension! (The one that cooks our food) I have a lot of confidence with her, and she isn´t member, so we watched the Joseph Smith movie and after she had the desire to be baptized. I always call her mom (in English) and it’s really funny but she is very special and before we were even in that house to live she went to the church by herself and loves to go. She just is a little hesitant about an actual date to be baptized. She will do it though because I asked her why she wanted to be baptized and she said, because it would be a new life, clean and ready to start over! That’s so cool!!! She also cooks so good, I actually show her things to cook to that she didn´t know, like quesadillas, cereal, or even toasted bread. Really hard huh? But she loves my cooking!!! lol I learned how to make cake and this next week I’m going to learn how to make apple pie and maybe even kill a guinea pig and eat it! It’s going to be interesting!
Well I´m loving the mission and will work hard to the end!

New Assignments!!

Dear Family,                                                                                         7-23-12
To start off last week in central Lima, I had a blast! Everything there was super expensive because it’s a tourist spot and so I didn´t buy that much, I just bought a new Josh Groban CD that I think came out last year that was real cheap! But we went bowling, I bowled really bad at first- 79 but then got a 109. It was fun and right on the beach so it had a good look out of the beach...but sadly even the beach is a little ugly here. Lots of "Gringos" came up and talked to me, there were these two ladies that were from Virginia (closer to DC then we live), I told them I´d been by their house a lot going into DC. It was interesting, I also heard a bad word and I just started laughing because I hadn´t heard those words in a long time. It was very funny!
Well everything is going great, but I´m very excited right now for a lot of things. We knew we were going to learn about transfers today and this whole week me and my companion were anticipating the we would just stay together as zone leaders and everything would be cool, but we received a call last night...it was the assistants. They asked for my companion asked how everything was going, and then told him that he was the new assistant!! How crazy is that! I had a blast with Elder Guerrero, and he is a good guy and I´m excited he will be the assistant, but that leaves me without a companion. I was very worried last night about who it would be and I couldn´t sleep that well...very easy to get up at 6:30 though. Now I´m so excited for my new companion, Elder Us from Guatemala again. When I was district leader for the first time he was a brand new missionary and I love that kid, he´s short but powerful. I even did a work visit with him and so I have worked with him before and it’s always a really good time when we got back together. So it will be cool being his companion, but he has never been zone leader before...so that puts me training him as zone leader. I have to guide the whole zone with him and the president has put a lot of trust in me for that. I´m excited for my companion now and my next companion tomorrow. It’s going to be sweet!!
In the area we a young man that’s been going to seminary and his mom that are going to be baptized this Wednesday!! I’m excited and David (the young man) went to the skate scripture mastery contests last Saturday and took 2nd place! That’s a good convert, but I didn´t do anything he learned a lot at seminary and they feel the spirit very strongly, and so they except the gospel very easily and see how it will bless their lives. They are very humble too!! We as well have a lot of other that can progress this month and our zone can do a lot of good!!
I love you guys and am glad you all had a good vacation, and good Youth Conference...even through the problems! I love this gospel and I know it’s true and that every sacrifice to live the Gospel of Jesus Christ is worth it!

Love you all,

Going to Central Lima!!

Dear Family,                                                                                         7-16-12
I have been doing well and things are looking so good here in the work of the Lord. We had 2 baptisms this last week Adela and her son Renzo! They are so cool and were so happy. A young women came to the baptism (we are teaching her family) and after said she wanted to be baptized, and so she is preparing for the 27 of July. Everyone here is preparing for the independence day of Peru. It’s the 28 of July and they do like marches and things like that! It’s kind of cool. Everyone here is as well finishing the half year of school and so after this Friday everyone is going to have time for a couple weeks.
Well we have one investigator that’s really special right now for us, Lissy. She is 16 and lives with her parents there at the house and then her cousins, aunt, and uncle live in the second story. The family that lives in the second story are all members and preparing to go to the Temple. She took lessons from the missionaries a while ago but now she wants to be baptized after a while going back to the Catholic Church. But as soon as she told her mom she wanted to be baptized all Hell broke loose this last week. Her parents at first said that if in 3 weeks she wanted to be baptized still they will support her. She came back after 3 weeks and told them that she still wanted to be baptized but they did not keep their promise. They yelled at her and took away a lot of her privileges. She was very sad and had no one there with her. We have been communicating with her through letters. It’s been actually kind of cool, it’s like a secret love that you try to send love letters and find time to secretly meet. But it’s that she can have the support she needs. And she told us even though her parents beat her for the decision that she took, she now reads her scriptures everyday and is always praying!!! She is very strong; she wants to partake of the fruit and can´t. How great full us must all be to have the families we have. I hope I have a wife one day that is strong through all the trails to come out and say as Lissy wrote us, "one day I will be able to say to everyone that this Gospel is true!"
   Love you all,

Lots of learnin´

Dear family,                                                                                          7-9-12
This week I learning and worked a lot. We did so many things this week I was just pooped yesterday after it all. We did two work visits (we change with other missionaries for a day as leaders and teach/learn from them). The assistant called me Monday night and said I’m going to visit you tomorrow Elder Corbett. Ok it was alright, I learned something’s but it was actually a little hard to teach with him because I felt like during the lesson he was trying to show off. Then I went Friday and visit with one of my good friends in the mission and worked our tails off that day. We had like 26 contacts and 3 lessons and 2 new investigators. It was an awesome day but we stayed up talking and doing things. He teaches really well and I like the way we taught together, he´s going home 3 weeks after I am. We also had our Zone Leader Council which was the best I´ve been to. The president got up in front and said they didn´t really have an exact agenda but we will see how it goes. It was so inspired what we talked about and how things went. Me and my companion saw the things we needed to do better and then how we could help the zone do a lot better. It went so well and very long, then when we got back to our area we had a couple investigators who needed to have their baptismal interview but there was no light in all our area. We went and told them we would do it Friday and went to our room because it’s dangerous without light at night.
We have some people progressing. But I want to tell you guys about a young woman we are teaching. She is 16 years old and she is cousin with some members and both their families live in that house. She was talking to the missionaries a long time ago but did progress until a couple weeks ago she received an answer that this church is true and wants to be baptized. The thing is that her parent’s don´t support her. She went and talked to them and said she wanted to get baptized and so her parents said, if you don´t go to either church (catholic or Mormon) for a month and the come back and tell us the same thing we will support you. We couldn´t talk to her for a couple weeks and then after a month she went and talked to her parents last week and they said NO tomorrow you have to come to the maze with us. She is very sad, but this last week we wrote her a card of support and she wrote us back the same night and told us how this was going to be trial in her life but after it all she will be faithful and testify that this gospel is true! She told us she was reading the book of Mormon and praying daily! This family is the best. Send me something cool from the United States to give to them. The girl and as well her family that’s so cool. She gave us a tie yesterday that were so pretty, and so send me something that they would love. That letter she wrote us built my testimony!

It’s all true and I love it so very much!!
       Love you all,
           Elder Corbett

Lots of funny stories!

Dear Family,                                                                                                                 7-2-12
Boy do I love you all. This week was finding a lot of new people to teach. The new investigators are really good and we had 5 people in the sacrament meeting this week of which all can progress. I´m excited about this next month we have the goal of 4 baptisms. The people are ready we just need to work hard. This last month we made our goal which was 3 baptisms. And they are good converts, we have a young man that’s 14 who introduces us to all of his friends on Friday, its was like 20 other young men, and so we took down all of their addresses and there is a family behind every one, so we will contact them this all this week. :-)
Ok so 2 funny stories, we went looking for a young man who talked to us and wanted us to come over to his house. So we found his house and he Grandma was there and we talked to her first and she was probably 60 years old and she looked a little fat around the belly, and so my companion is looking at her and talking to her and then asks "how long have you been pregnant?" and she said "no I´m not pregnant, :-/ that’s just how I am a little fat." I just kind of hid my face a little and didn´t say anything. But she still let us come in and teach her grandson, she she was very nice. And then later we went to a reference of a convert and we´re talking with her and she said that her brand new blackberry cell phone was robbed that morning and it was very sad and we there and asking her when we could come by and I being not thoughtful, "so what’s your number to call you if we need to get a hold of you" :-/ She just stood there looking at me for a second and then we all started laughing. but that was a really funny day!! So the mission even though a lot of work and making people come unto Christ it’s a lot of fun! The last 6 months of your mission are the best in the whole world. I feel sad for the Sister missionaries because they miss the best part of the mission!!
Well that’s crazy about that thunderstorm, I wish so badly I was there, I miss rain and storms SO MUCH!!! I haven´t seen really rain for 18 months!!!!
   Love you all,
      Elder Corbett

New Room!!

Dear family,                                                                                                                  6-25-12
This week has been awesome, with a lot of distracts but really awesome. We had our multi-zone conference which went so well. It was really inspiring from the president, we talked about the importance of the Book of Mormon, how to find people to teach, and teaching better the commandments because lots of people here in Peru don´t pay their tithing, and that keeps them from the blessings of the temple. I wrote a talk about the importance of the Book of Mormon and about how God has prepared the Book of Mormon for these times from the beginning! And it’s so interesting when I went to look for scriptures, the book throughout testifies of itself. And it was a pretty sweet talk and then I wanted to give it at the mufti zone and I wasn't called on! :-( But that’s ok I learned a ton, and now I have another awesome talk ready for when I need it! ;-) I also learned that in training you learn 25% preparing for the training, 25% in the actually training, and then 50% of the training you learn after applying what you learned. I guess we could compare that to as well General Conference. 25% preparing to hear the prophets and apostles, 25% listening, and the 50% applying what they have told us. So look at how much of the lesson we are losing if we don´t prepare before or if we don´t apply it after 75%. That’s a lot we can learn and a lot of faith we can build. So prepare, learn, and apply!
Ok as well this week we moved houses!! WAHOOO Finally!! I´m so happy in our new house I feel so much more comfortable and clean. We have our privacy and a super nice family! I love this place and it nice that I can walk around the rooms with just my socks and they don´t get all dirty! :-) We feel the peace but we have been super tired these last couple days because we have been packing and things at night and not getting to bed until 12 or 1 in the morning and then waking up at 6:30 kills ya a little after 4 o 5 days. So today will be a nice day, after playing soccer we will go and rest! There are also people in the house that aren´t member so we are going to teach them! Our pensionista isn't a member and she was taking a ton of lessons from the missionaries a while ago. almost got baptized but didn't, so now it’s time, I think we came to this house for a reason because there are a couple other things that were going to happen if we didn't move in there. So life is good, the Zone as well is getting way better. The goal every week of contacts is 70 for every companionship and all but 2 areas made it, and the lowest number of contacts was 62!! There are 8 companionship in the zone. And yes I´m zone leader still, me and my companion are the zone leaders. Our companionship is the zone leaders! It’s pretty cool to be zone leader and fun to work with all the missionaries on work visits and things like that!
Well I hope everyone has a B-E-A-utiful week and love every minute of every day, and all that sunshine because we are getting less here, during winter all cloud cover every day without rain, its sad! :-(
         Love you all,
            Elder Corbett

p.s. put in the package cereal (that cereal that was always our favorite, put that in the box) and hot chocolate.
p.s.s. What happened to the bishopric emails every month?!? I love those!

Let it Pour!!

Dear Family,                                                                                                     6-18-12
Well it’s been a good week, we had transfers and it was a good transfer. We did have 3 baptisms this week and a sister that’s preparing to be baptized, maybe with her son. So she is super ready and really awesome, she actually contacted us, he name is Adela. I feel like everyone we have visited this week is super prepared for the Lord and is ready to receive a baptism in their lives. I have showed my companion all the people we have been teaching and there are alot that are progressing. :-)
So my new companion is awesome, he speaks English and is way cool. I really feel like I can be myself around him and we can express how everything is going. Elder Guerrero from Costa Rica, but as well before his mission he lived like a year with his uncle in Miami FL. So that’s where he got his English down. It is fun to talk to him and he´s down to earth. I´m so excited for this transfer and for the great work we are going to have to do in this area.
Ok so if you want to know dad what its been like with our "pensionista" its like this, we eat every meal with them and they have that wonderful restaurant. But what been happening is we live in a part of their house and the president in the last zone leader conference talked to us about how we needed to switch to a better room because he´s seen our room and there isn´t the much privacy and so we went to them at the beginning of the month and told them the president asked up to switch and from that point on we really started looking and making the changes but the mom of the family took it all the wrong way and didn´t want to talk to us, we were very polite but she didn´t want to hear more because the missionaries have been there for a super long time and things like that. But now we talked to here this week and she now doesn´t want to know anything about the church. She has decided to abandon the church and she said because of the member of the ward but then we talked about reading the Book of Mormon and she said absolutely not going to read. It’s so sad because they were super active for years. Its sad to see how someone who has years never gained a true testimony. I´m sad for this family and wish they would come back but they have decided no. :-( at least we are still trying to rescue their son thats 20 years old and get him to come back, he is like a best friend to me too, so I can´t let him loose his eternal life like that! so that’s been a huge problem we have been having but besides that everything is going GREAT!!! I´m really going to love these next transfers.
Well to answer your question mom, I only have 5 months left and so just Candy from the states would be awesome in the package!! And with you guys coming out, I was thinking the same thing, just come out the same day of transfer, Tuesday the 27th. that would be awesome!
Love you all and my letter next week will be spiritual!!
       Elder Corbett
   p.s. WAHOO 19 months!

New Companion!!

Dear Family,                                                                                         6-11-12
Well this week has actually been a little slow because of a little bit of problems with our pensionista. She doesn´t talk to us that much, but we are switching houses this week, our new apartment is so sweet!! I´m excited, we have 3 baptisms this weekend, we did a fast with two of them this week to help them with the word of wisdom. A day after the fast he asked us "when is the next fast, I want to do it again, I felt really good even though I was really hungry!" it was really special. So we are working with Wilder, Rosalia, and Jose. Their Awesome!
My companion is leaving tomorrow! He is going to have another companion from my group and I´m going to have another companion from his group. His name is Elder Guerrero, he´s from Costa Rica, so that cool. I don´t think I´m ever going to have a companion from peru! lol crazy huh? Well we will just be seeing how everything goes this week with the baptisms and transfers. We have another area in the Zone opening up so that will be cool. Time is going by really fast.
I talked to Sis. Dorius about you guys coming out and she said she hates it when parents come out to pick of there missionaries. NO JUST KIDDING, she said she loves it and they as well would like to maybe go out to eat with you or have a family night with them. I thought that was awesome, and so she told me that you would come out as close to the finishing date as possible or maybe a couple days before. I finish the 27 of November and you guys could maybe come out 24 the Saturday before or something like that. So that’s a little bit of an idea from all of you to make plans BUT i´m not to worried huh? lol love you guys.
I love you all and hope everything is going good! I pray for you all every night in my personal prayers and miss you all!
    Love,
            Elder Corbett

Enjoy life!

Dear Family,                                                                                                     6-4-12

Time just flies!

Buenos días a todos,                                                                            5-28-12
Wow I still haven´t heard anything about mom? how is she doing?

Well this week just flew by so fast. I feel like its Monday and then the next day is Friday and then Sunday and then I´m writing you all again. The mission is amazing. We had a bunch of lessons today and we are teach a TON of people, So many we can´t keep track of them all. Its actually a little sad. In the other part of the ward they had 4 baptism, it was a family (mom, son, daughter, and cousin). I was with the Elder from that area two weeks ago when we invited them to be baptized. It was really powerful and they have past many hard challenges to get where they are now. But they made it and are happy!! We are preparing a couple people to be baptized the 9th of June, a mom and her son, and as well a bunch of youth. They are awesome and its going to be a lot of work to help them but God can prepare them, if they do there part. Last week when the Mom(Rosalia) came to church she asked me how to pay her tithing. She willingly knowing a little about the church paid her tithing without us even teaching about it. I showed her and she paid her tithing, very wonderful woman of faith.
Well we ended this month with one baptism but oh how awesome this convert is!! he is something super special!!  I love this kid and I´m going to do all I can so that he can be a missionary!! he received the priesthood yesterday and stayed for all the classes and since his baptism has come in jeans with a white shirt and tie! its awesome because I think that is the best clothes he has. This week we have our zone leader council which is going to be good. I don`t have anything else to report just that everything is going well, enjoying the time I have here in Peru and the Mission I have been given. :-)
    Love you all,
           Elder Corbett

The Peace of the House of God

Dear Family,                                                                                                                 5-21-12
How is mom doing? I haven't heard anything yet? Well I hope everything is well and mom you are recuperating quickly from the surgery. I had a lot of great experiences this week. We have actually had a lot of good references this week. The members have called us and told us that they talked to someone and had their information. And they are wonderful people. I had one of the most powerful experiences Saturday with feeling the spirit in my entire mission.
First I want to talk about going to the temple, that was such a great experiences. I know I felt the spirit and received personal revelation. I know my Heavenly Father heard my prayers. I learned so many new things this time that I didn’t know before and those things are now helping me in my mission. As well I learned a little bit of some of the things I need to do after the mission. Specific names that came into my mind that I need to help reactivate into the Gospel. While I was in the celestial room right before leaving I saw a triple combination there on a table. So I went over and looked up a scripture, Jacob 5: 71 (a scripture that a good friend wrote me in a letter) But this time when I read it, it had a different meaning. This was the last time I had to go to the Temple before the close of my mission and so now these last 6 months are the last time I will EVER have this same opportunity to serve in a mission like I am doing now. The mission is unique and very fast, I need to now go serve in the vineyard with all my might for the last time. I will serve my whole life in the church, but I may never serve 24 hours a day 7 days a week for 2 years, and especially never again with the strength God has given me as a young adult. I know I have been prepared for this time and these days to serve in Peru. I know these areas (though few) are the ones god has called me to.
Ok now this week we received a reference from a ward member that lives in the market in the middle of our area and super close to the church. He called us and we passed by to pick up the reference. We went Saturday to her house to talk to her. She didn’t have anyone there in the  house to be with us so we took her over to the house of a member really close. She told us about her religious background and some of the things we wanted to know. We also talked to her about what she could receive from this message and gave the message of the restoration but only the part with Joseph Smith and his vision. It was what she needed to know, at the end she said that when she went to the market she was going through alot of trials and hardships but to know that someone cared so much about her was something very special to her, that someone listened and helped her in her life. She said when she went and talked to this member (and she went to the market only to do her daily shopping) is was one of the best morning of her life. At the end of the lesson she started crying of happiness. The spirit was testifying to her of the truth and I could feel so strongly the love Heavenly Father has for her. she said she was praying to Jesus Christ to show her the way. I know God loves his Children, and God answered her prayers through a member of His church. I gave a talk last Sunday on being a witness of God everywhere so we can invite the spirit into the lives of those around us. I know that if we all are witness of God and simply look for times to testify of God, there are so many. I love you all  and pray for you and thank God for your support. I know the missionaries have millions of members everyday praying for them and what a privilege it is to be one of His representatives today!!!
   Love ya all,
       Elder Corbett
